An Abundance of Katharines

well just one in particular...

Katharine Hepburn was best known for her style, varied film roles, and strong attitude.

As an actor, her versatility enabled her to play a variety of parts convincingly.

Her acting career lasted from 1928-1994.

Katharine Hepburn won the most Best Actress Oscars with a total of four awards out of twelve nominations.

"Sometimes I wonder if men and women really suit each other. Perhaps they should live next door and just visit now and then." ~Katharine Hepburn

Her somewhat masculine, simple, and elegant style along with her loose feminine hair have become quite iconic.

"If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased." ~Katharine Hepburn

Best Films

The Philadelphia Story
Katharine Hepburn plays highly moralled soon to be married Tracy. When her ex- husband returns to the family estate along with a news reporter couple, trouble naturally ensues with Tracy's dysfunctional family, romance is in the air for Tracy with (gasp!) three different men, much drinking and hangovers, and witty dialogue abound. Will it all get sorted out before the wedding?
-Also starring Jimmy Stewart, and Cary Grant.

Bringing Up Baby
Katharine Hepburn plays a ridiculous society girl who will say anything that pops into her head. Somehow she gets an absentminded professor type (Cary Grant) to accompany her to her family country home to deliver a leopard. Before the professor knows what hit him, hilarious misadventure and comedy ensue. Will they fall in love?

Desk Set
This time Katharine Hepburn plays an office
phone librarian about to be outsourced by a machine. The oblivious deliverer of the machine (Dick Tracy) will get a big surprise as he deals with the prickly librarians furious about loosing their jobs. Perhaps romance will get in the way of business?

"Acting is the most minor of gifts. After all, Shirley Temple could do it when she was four."
~Katharine Hepburn

What do you get when you mix a little Tina Fey, Glee, Betty White, Tim Gunn, and Bruce Springsteen? This lovely creation:

I may not be the biggest Glee or Bruce Springsteen fan, but somehow it comes together as a hit!
